In the last decade, Design claims its significance, impact and necessity in all domains of use. Designers will need to continuously evolve their role, skills and tools to stay relevant, inspire, collaborate and guide the specific cases or contexts, but we have neglected the ability to systematically explain why that is so. We can learn from the general principles of the system theories new evaluation criteria, new solutions to better define the new design problems in highly resilient contexts, well-reasoned explanations of behaviour, well-supported foresight models.
